Zeppelin Power Systems provides shipping company Lehmann with Optimarin Ballast Water Treatment System

Zeppelin Power Systems wird bis 2024 sechs Optimarin Ballastwasserbehandlungssysteme (OBS) an die Lübecker Reederei Lehmann liefern. Die bestellten Anlagen des Typs OBS 334-BK haben eine Kapazität von maximal je 334m³/h.

Die Reederei wird die Anlagen auf ihren Mehrzweckfrachtern, die europaweit im Einsatz sind, in Eigenregie einbauen. „Die Ballastwasserbehandlungssysteme von Optimarin haben uns überzeugt, da sie kompakt, einfach zu installieren und zu bedienen sowie darüber hinaus sehr robust und qualitativ hochwertig sind“, sagt Sven Lohse, Geschäftsführer der Reederei Lehmann.

Die Reederei Lehman ist seit Jahrzenten treuer Kunde im Bereich der MaK Motoren und vertraut zudem auf die Serviceleistungen von Zeppelin Power Systems. Mit dem Erwerb und Einsatz der OBS setzt die Reederei auf einen nachhaltigeren Schiffsbetrieb und damit auf den Schutz der Ökosysteme. Zeppelin Power Systems ist seit 2014 offizieller Partner von Optimarin, dem größten Anbieter für Ballastwasserbehandlungssysteme. Die Anlagen des norwegischen Herstellers entsprechen dem IMO D2-Standard und damit den Anforderungen aller gängigen Marine-Klassifikationsgesellschaften. Die Optimarin Technologie ist zudem die erste ihrer Art, die das Type Approval der United States Coast Guard (USCG) für Ballastwassersysteme erhalten hat.

Zeppelin Power Systems will deliver six Optimarin ballast water treatment systems (OBS) to the Lübecker Reederei Lehmann by 2024. The ordered units type OBS 334-BK have a maximum capacity of 334m³ / h each.

The shipping company will install the equipment on its multipurpose freighters, which are in use throughout Europe. “Optimarin’s ballast water treatment systems have convinced us, as they are compact, easy to install and operate, and very robust and of high quality,” says Sven Lohse, Managing Director of Lehmann shipping company.

With the acquisition and use of the OBS, the shipping company is relying on a more sustainable ship operation and thus on the protection of ecosystems. Zeppelin Power Systems has been an official partner of Optimarin, the largest provider of ballast water treatment systems, since 2014. The equipment of the Norwegian manufacturer comply with the IMO D2 standard and thus the requirements of all common marine classification societies. Optimarin was also the first to receive the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Type Approval for ballast water systems.
